Father's Day in the DR

This is how Rob described his Father's Day experience:

"Woke up to a delicious breakfast in bed of French toast with honey and fruit syrup, bacon, milk, and tomato juice. It was followed simultaneously by a gift of six certificates for a Saturday of editing and a tin of delicious oatmeal cookies and a can of cashews from my lovely green-eyed wife. I enjoyed it all tremendously. Could any other man ever be as fortunate as I am to have such a wife as she is? No, I think not.

"In addition, I was able to talk to all of the kids, received some cute cards from the kids and grandkids, and some very nice gifts...

"Jill, another Senion Missionary Vickie Rucker, and many of the other sisters put on a delightful Father’s Day presentation for FHE (Family Home Evening) this week.  http://youtu.be/IwhJADpWaF0

"After a verse or two of a rap from all of the wives, Jill and Vickie showed brief explanations in Spanish of what the wives that was good or unique about the husbands while they took turns reading the English versions and asked the audience to guess who the elder was they were describing. After a moment or two of guessing, they revealed a photo of the elder in question. Favorite desserts and snacks of the elders made by their wives concluded the delightful evening of edification, food and conversation. These missions would not be half so enjoyable were it not for our wives."

Now, I, Jill have been taking pictures of Rob while we've been here doing various things that I want to share with you now - he is such a sweetheart!

Working hard at what he does best - taking videos and pictures of people, training others, and just listening..

 

But he does enjoy a little play...

 "World's Largest Swimming Pool"out in the ocean.

Sometimes he just likes to read a book...

or take a snooze...

Or just lie on the sand like a beached whale which scared me to death -
doesn't he look like a goner??

 But no matter what he does, he's the best husband, father, and grandfather in the world!
